What Our Customers Are Saying About Us In:
Barrie
Julian Lisicki was our service technician and he was excellent. He gave us details on what happened and also offered some good suggestions. As well he advised us on several maintenance plans available for heater/air and furnace. Wish all techs were like Julian
Professional, above and beyond. Not only did the maintenance on the furnace, took the the time to look at the humidifier and realized it was never installed correctly. Fixed that then, taught me how to turn the heat up on our tankless water heater. Very happy with the service.

Your 5-point Furnace Checklist
When you call Reliance® with a home heating problem, we’re always happy to send help fast. But to save you the inconvenience and cost of an unnecessary visit, here are five things that you can check before giving us a call:
Check that your thermostat is set to ‘heat’
Forgetting to turn the thermostat from ‘cool’ to ‘heat’ happens more often than you may think. If the temperature outside drops and no warm air is blowing into your home, the first thing to check is your thermostat setting.
Check that your furnace is switched on
Many people don’t know that their furnace has a switch – called the disconnect switch – to turn off its power. This safety feature is usually located on the side of the unit, or on a nearby wall. If something leans against it, the switch can be turned off by mistake. Or, someone may turn off the furnace and forget to turn it back on. If your furnace doesn’t seem to be working, check the switch and make sure it’s turned on.
Check your breaker panel
The power to your furnace is controlled through your home’s breaker panel. Sometimes the circuit that controls your furnace shuts off. If your furnace lacks power, it may be a good idea to check that the circuit breaker marked ‘furnace’ is in the right position.
Check that your furnace vents are clear
Did you know that your furnace has air vents that lead from the outside of your home to your heating system? If they become blocked by snow, ice, dirt, debris, or animals who are hiding inside, your furnace may fail to work properly. If you notice a change in your home heating, take a look to ensure that the venting is clear. Keep in mind that a full inspection should be left to a professional.
Check your furnace filter
An old or dirty filter may affect your furnace’s ability to properly heat your home. Most furnace filters should be changed every three months, or according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. While most furnace filters are easy to clean or change, if you are unsure of how to do this, we’d be happy to give you a hand.
