FortisBC Dual Fuel Heating System Rebate: Up to $10,000 in rebates when upgrading to a dual fuel heating system

LAST CHANCE TO SAVE $10,000! THIS REBATE WILL GO DOWN TO $5000 ON MAY 1, 2025.
A dual fuel heating system = a ducted heat pump and a gas or propane furnace. The backup furnace activates at a specific switch-over temperature.
Rebate:
- Up to $10,000 available for upgrading from primary natural gas or propane heating to a dual fuel system (minimum capacity of 12K BTU/1 ton)
Eligibility:
- Must be replacing an existing gas or propane furnace that is at least 10 years old (Boilers are not eligible)
- Must be a FortisBC natural gas customer (Home must be primarily heated with natural gas or propane supplied by FortisBC)
- The heat pump must be on the rebate-eligible list
- Application must be submitted by the homeowner within 6 months of the invoice date of the upgrade.

The Fortis BC Home Appliance Maintenance Program
You could get up to $100 in rebates if you have your furnace or boiler and tankless water heater serviced by a licensed gas contractor between June 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. CLEANBC BETTER HOMES ENERGY SAVINGS PROGRAM
Join the CleanBC Better Homes Energy Savings Program with Reliance Home Comfort®. Starting June 18, 2024, you could get up to $21,000 in rebates for heat pumps and home efficiency upgrades. Rebate Amounts
- Ductless Mini Split or Ductless Multi-Split Heat Pump: Up to $3,000
- Central Ducted Heat Pump: Up to $3,000
- Electrical Service Upgrade: Up to $500 (only available in Vancouver if using Reliance)
Eligibility Requirements
- The property must be a primary residence, at least 12 months old, and meet specific assessed value criteria.
- Upgrades must be installed by an approved Income Qualified Program Registered Contractor
- Utility Account: Must have a residential account with FortisBC, BC Hydro, or a municipal utility.
- Primary Heating Source: Natural gas, piped propane (FortisBC), Pacific Northern Gas, electricity (FortisBC, BC Hydro, municipal utility), oil, or non-FortisBC propane.
- Homeowner must submit the application within 6 months of the invoice date.

SaskEnergy Residential Equipment Replacement Rebate Program
Looking to upgrade your home’s heating or hot water system in Saskatchewan? You may qualify for the SaskEnergy Residential Equipment Replacement Rebate Program. Get up to $1,000 back when you install an eligible ENERGY STAR®-certified tankless water heater. Plus, you could receive:
- $325 for a 96.0%–96.9% AFUE natural gas furnace
- $650 for a 97.0%+ AFUE natural gas furnace
- $10 per MBH (up to $2,000) for a 95.0%+ AFUE boiler
These rebates help make high-efficiency upgrades more affordable—and can lead to long-term energy savings.
