It’s the season for road trips, lazy beach days, campfires and trips to the cottage! Summer is officially here! With the hot sunny days our Canadian summers bring – it’s important to remember to stay hydrated, especially when the humidity rises. If the idea of drinking plain water doesn’t thrill you, we have some excellent ways you can jazz up your drinking water.
Here are some ways to help ensure you get delicious tasting drinking water all summer long:
Make a Splash in Your Water
Adding fresh berries, lemon wedges, cucumber, or mint leaves is an excellent and healthy way to infuse water with great-tasting summery flavours. Alternatively, you can try diluting your favourite fruit juice with water to help reduce your sugar intake and get maximum hydration.
Enjoy Some Tea – Hot or Cold!
Reverse Osmosis water can enhance the flavour of your beverages. If you’re a tea lover, you can still enjoy a nice cuppa on a hot summer day! Hot tea can help cool you down. If you’d prefer to put a summery twist on this classic beverage, you can try brewing some of your favourite herbal tea, let it cool off and then add a few ice cubes.
Cool Off with Ice Cubes
Using the water from your Reverse Osmosis system can give you great-tasting, crystal-clear ice cubes without an aftertaste. Add some fresh fruit to your ice tray to kick your summer drinks up a notch! Homemade slushies make a delicious frozen treat your kids will enjoy. Put about 1/2 cup of your favourite fruit in the blender (berries, watermelon, pineapple), add 1/3 cup of ice cubes, 1 teaspoon of honey and a couple of tablespoons of water and create a fun drink that not only tastes great but can help your kids stay hydrated while playing out in the sun.
